Kitchener Midweek Market

With about 20 vendors, it will be smaller than the Saturday market, which has about 80 vendors.

The Food Hall will be open, allowing people to either sit and enjoy a meal, or pick up dinner on their way home. A large licensed area will also feature local beer and cider.

The first midweek market coincides with the launch party for the new street mural painted on the road along Eby Street.

Kitchener experimented with a midweek daytime market from 2004 to 2007, but it fizzled because of poor attendance.

In a survey two years ago asking for suggestions to improve the market, 78 per cent were in favour of a summer evening market, prompting staff to give it a try.
